Honor Our Veterans

Today is Veteran’s Day.  I want to say how grateful I am to all the men and women that have served our country over the years and presently.  My father served in the Navy during the Korean War.  Several uncles and cousins have served in the Army and Marines.  Not only do I say thank you to them, but thank you to their families for the sacrifices they’ve made as well.  Yesterday, I was going through my Facebook page and saw many posters acknowledging our veterans.  I’ll share one here.  Let’s keep our veterans, and those fighting today, in our prayers, not just today, but every day.

  1. I cannot imagine what it must be like for the enlisted as well as the family members when someone is deployed. An excellent book that gives a peek into just such a situation is Why Aren’t You Sweet Like Me?, written by Carrie Nyman. It is the true story of her grandmother and her sweetheart. I read it over Memorial Day weekend, and thought about it this weekend as it is another military related holiday. I think it might be offered for free on Amazon today only. You might want to check into it.
